NewMark’s Speciality Products are designed to provide unique “specialized” benefits for modern health concerns. For example, our founder Paul Schulick learned that broccoli and other “cruciferous” sprouts are phytonutrient powerhouses, and are excellent sources of a phyto-nutrient group called “glucosinolates.” Over 80 scientific studies have confirmed that these phytonutrients stimulate resistance and detoxification in our liver and elsewhere, and the early sprouted form of the plants is a particularly rich source of these beneficial compounds*. The problem is that people don’t normally consume the sprouts of broccoli, daikon radish, and the other crucifers, and they are frankly not that flavorful. The challenge was how to bring these phytonutrient “packages” to people in an easy, palatable form. Paul figured out how to sprout, dry, and deliver cruciferous sprouts that in turn delivered the full spectrum of glucosinolate compounds. He saw the health benefit, understood that people could not normally obtain these health-promoting compounds, and creatively designed a specialty formula that met the health need.
